Gifts and Entertainment

Members of the University community should not accept or solicit, directly or indirectly, anything of economic value as a gift, gratuity, favor, or entertainment which is, or may appear to be, designed to influence official conduct in any manner, particularly from a person who is seeking to obtain business or financial arrangements with the University.

UR community members are expected to:

Accept benefits, awards, and prizes from external entities only in accordance with federal and state laws and University policies and standards;

Examples of Prohibited Conduct

Accepting valuable gifts or favors in return for making purchases or establishing contracts with a particular vendor or other person or organization.
