COVID-19 Dashboard

The University of Richmond COVID-19 Dashboard is a source of information to provide updates on COVID-19 data specifically related to the campus community.

The dashboard will be updated weekly and pulls data from multiple sources to illustrate and track various metrics, which will help inform continued decision-making related to campus operations. Weekly updates allow the University to protect the privacy of student and employee information while enabling us to observe and share campus health trends.

Data Notes

The COVID-19 Dashboard reflects data for the following time periods:
- Data for the fall 2020 semester includes cases reported between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
- Data for the spring 2021 semester includes cases reported between January 1, 2021 and May 15, 2021.
- Data for the summer 2021 term includes cases reported between May 16, 2021 and August 17, 2021.
The data set includes all faculty and staff, whether working or teaching on campus or remotely. It also includes cases reported during the winter break.
The data set includes all enrolled students except those who have elected to study remotely, but does not include students who tested positive 10 or more days after leaving campus for the winter break.
This data incorporates prevalence test numbers. The prevalence testing process is detailed here .
Total cases is the cumulative number of positive COVID-19 cases identified through testing by UR or self-reported by students, faculty and staff.
Total COVID tests are the total number of PCR or antigen tests conducted by UR or self-reported by students, faculty and staff. This number does not include antibody tests.
Total percent positivity is the percentage of the total COVID-19 tests conducted by or reported to UR that yielded a positive result. Please note that negative tests conducted off campus may not have been reported to the University.
Current active cases is the number of people who have tested positive and are in isolation* (either on or off campus) as of the date of the report.
Weekly new cases are the number of positive cases by the week in which the case was reported to UR.
Monthly percent positivity is the percentage of COVID-19 tests conducted by or reported to UR that yielded a positive report by the month in which the test and result were reported to UR. Please note that negative tests conducted off campus may not have been reported to the University. UR will report partial month for August only. Thereafter the data will be reported at the end of each month.
The percentage of isolation and quarantine space occupied includes only isolation and quarantine space located on campus. Please note that there may be more students in isolation than there are confirmed active cases on campus. As a precaution, the Student Health Center may place symptomatic students in isolation pending a COVID-19 test.

*Isolation keeps someone who is sick or who has tested positive for COVID-19 without symptoms away from others, even in their own home. Quarantine keeps someone who was in close contact with a person who has COVID-19 away from others.
