Health and Safety
The University is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its students, faculty, staff, and visitors and to complying with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
UR community members are expected to:
Ensuring the implementation of appropriate safety policies and procedures in the areas for which individuals have leadership responsibility;
Reporting unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions to an individual's supervisor to the University's Department of Environmental Health and Safety Services;
Providing appropriate safety training to supervised employees; and
Promoting safe working practices

Examples of Prohibited Conduct
- Failure to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and/or observe safety protocols when working in an environment with potentially dangerous chemicals or machinery.
- Propping open doors that require card access.
- Hosting events without following protocols to ensure that appropriate security can be maintained and that safety standards can be met.
