Title Page

Title: The title of your study should simply summarize the main idea of your paper and be fully explanatory at the same time. Avoid phrases such as "A study of" or "An experimental investigation of," and avoid abbreviations in the title. It should be 10 - 12 words.

Author's name and institutional affiliation: The preferred form for the author's name is the first name, middle intial(s), and last name. Do not include titles (Dr., Professor) and degrees (Phd, PsyD). The institutional affiliation is the location where the author(s) conducted the study. Include one other institution if it contributed substantial financial support. If there is not institutional affiliation, use the author's city and state of residence. If the instituional affiliation information has changed, list the current information.

Running head: The running head is an abbreviated title that is printed at the top of the pages of the article. It has a maximum of 50 characters (letters, punctuation, and spaces).

Page Numbers and Manuscript Page Headers: Beginning with the title page, pages are numbered consecutively. Number all pages, except artwork for figures, in arabic numerals in the upper-right hand corner. To identify each manuscript page, use the first two or three words from the title and put them in the upper right-hand corner of the page above or five spaces to the left of the page number. Use the automatic functions of your word-processing program instead of typing manuscript page headers repeatedly.
