must be accompanied by a "mot d'excuse" (note, phone call or email message
of explanation, the date of the absence preferably).
More than 6 absences
may result in failure in the course with the exception of documented
school sponsored trips, documented medical emergencies and/or documented
deaths in the immediate family.
Assignments and Class Preparation:
Plan to spend a minimum of 2 hours per day in preparation for
each day of class. For each class session: (1) review material from the
previous class, completing all assignments ( including those in the
Multi-Media Lab)! And (2) prepare for the next class day by studying
those materials indicated on the "Emploi du Temps (Course schedule outline).
Workbook and lab assignment completion will be checked regularly. Keep
up on a daily basis with all assignments. Your signature on written
work constitutes your Honor Code Pledge. For special help your Professor
may be reached during office hours and/or by appointment, by phone (287-6838)
and by email at jpaulsen@richmond.edu
.
Regular daily preparation and full participation
are essential ingredients for survival (!) and success in this intensive,
immersion French 221 course. The full 40% of your Fr 221.01 preparation
and participation grade may be earned if you can honestly make the following
