Meet the Class of 2012

On August 20, 2008, 755 new first-year students will descend on Richmond to begin their collegiate careers. The following profile is intended to give you some ideas about the academic qualities of students who are admitted to the University of Richmond. However, numbers are not the only way we evaluate applicants. We seek to enroll young people who are excellent students as well as good citizens, artists, athletes, musicians, writers, leaders, employees–all around good people. The personal qualities demonstrated in each application play a very important role in our deliberations about who to invite to join the University community. We are building a dynamic entering class each year and seek students who will help to round out the skills, talents and abilities of the entire group.

The following profile will give you a lot of statistical information, but keep in mind that there are students who meet this profile who are not admitted, as well as quite a few who do not meet the profile but are admitted. Admission decisions are not based on a formula and take many factors into consideration. We hope that you will give us a chance to consider you!
