Richmond Spiders vs. Old Dominion Monarchs*
Kick-off: 3:30 p.m.
Cheer on our Spiders in the E. Claiborne Robins Stadium as they host the Old Dominion Monarchs. The afternoon start will give you plenty of time to socialize before and after the game, but don't miss the hard-hitting action when head coach Danny Rocco's team charges onto the field.
Due to the limited number of tickets available, and in an effort to be as fair as possible, we are distributing football tickets via a random lottery system this year (as is done on many campuses throughout the country). Football tickets are not guaranteed.
Q. Why are there so few tickets this year?
A. Conference rules stipulate we must provide our opposing team with 1,000 tickets. Often, teams who are traveling great distances will not use all of their allotment and will release a portion back to UR. Because ODU is a Virginia school and therefore fans do not have far to travel, they have chosen to keep their entire allotment. Other than the tickets we have been awarded, the remaining tickets belong to season ticket holders or are reserved for students.
Q. Will more tickets become available closer to game day?
A. It is possible for tickets to become available the week of the game. Visit RichmondSpiders.com and click on the tickets tab to check for football ticket availability.
Q. Will a waiting list be kept?
A. No, since the likelihood of a large number of tickets becoming available is low, we will not be keeping a waiting list.
Q. How do I enter the lottery?
A. Visit: http://familyweekend.kintera.org/football2012 and complete the form in its entirety.
Q. When will lottery entries close?
A. You may enter the lottery until 5 p.m., Friday, August 17.
Q. How many tickets may I request?
A. You may request a maximum of 4 tickets; however, exceptions may be made for immediate family members.
If I am a lottery winner…
Q. How and when will I be notified?
A. Once we have confirmed you are officially registered for Family Weekend we will notify you by Friday, August 24, via the email address you provided when you entered the lottery.
Q. How and when will I pay for my ticket(s)?
A. Included in your notification email will be a link for you to follow which will allow you to pay for your tickets online via credit card.
Q. Do I have to be officially registered for Family Weekend in order to claim my tickets?
A. Yes, because these football tickets are reserved specifically for Family Weekend participants.
Q. Will I be able to sit with my student?
A. Yes, when you submit your information to be included in the lottery, you will be able to indicate if you want to claim your student’s ticket and if you want your student to sit with you.
Q. How will I get my tickets?
A. Tickets will be available in your registration packet until 6 p.m., Friday, at the Welcome Center. On game day, tickets should be picked up at the stadium Will Call, Ticket Window 2, which opens at 11:30 a.m.
Q. What if I need an additional ticket or tickets after I have received my tickets through the lottery?
A. You will need to vist RichmondSpiders.com to see if any are available the week of the game.
Q. What if I cannot use my tickets? Will I get a refund?
A. If you find you cannot use your tickets prior to arriving on campus for Family Weekend, contact the Advancement Special Events Office by calling (804) 287-6818 for a refund. Once you are on campus, refunds cannot be issued.
Q. How much are football tickets and is there a child ticket price?
A. $30 per person and all tickets are the same price.
Q. Will there be adequate parking available on game day?
A. You are strongly encouraged to carpool or take a shuttle from your hotel on game day as parking will be limited and the campus will be extremely congested. A game day parking and traffic flow map may be found at RobinsStadium.com.
