Students who are interested in preparing for law school often pair the study of political science with a minor in law and the liberal arts. The political science major is excellent preparation, however, for a full range of careers, including work in education, public policy, government or public service.
The political science curriculum emphasizes undergraduate research and other experiential learning opportunities, particularly internships. Because the City of Richmond is just a short drive from our nation’s capital, many students opt to spend their summers interning in Washington, D.C.
