Science Fair Projects
Are you interested in developing a science fair project?
Over the past ten years a number of high school students have worked in my
research group, both during the School year and during the summer on research
projects that they have taken to regional, state and national science fairs.
Kerry worked for two years on her project, wihich involved understanding
the relationship between phosphorylation of proteins and their structure
and function. In addition to winning several regional and state science fair
awards, as a senior in High school she attended the annual meeting of the
American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in San Francisco
where she made a presentation on her work.
Ann worked on a project that led to new insights into a previously unkown
open reading frame in the virus cytomegalovirus.
If you are interested in delving into the molecular basis of life, using
a wide variety of experimental approaches and are willing to make an ongoing
committment to develop a research project, please contact Dr Bell: email:
